    I don't know what it is, but I'm sure someone spent countless hours behind it in the hot sun. I think it would be a fitting way to honor them, sitting beside it and drinking coffee.

    The front wheel at one time looks like it was adjustable like a gauge wheel. But the frame is very curious if it was cultivator or what it was. That will make a very interesting garden coffee table

    • @harryfaber
      @harryfaber 2 дні тому

      It may get 'hanging baskets' on the handles. All I know is that it is old. I guess it was a cultivator, probably pulled by a donkey.

      When I arrived here, I needed a mower on day 1. Could not be involved with repairing 2nd hand ones. Now, the 'benefit' is the service I get in the shop where I bought it, I had walked in, said 'that one' and paid cash. They have the mad idea that I am rich, and look after me very well.

    What a beauty! I'm amused by the British sized tail fins.

    • @harryfaber
      @harryfaber 7 днів тому

      Tail fins were always a stupid idea. Fords had real troubles with panels made on Monday mornings, the coiled steel would 'age harden' quickly enough that many of the stampings would crack in the press and have to be filled with lead filler. (I was born not far from the Ford plant at Dagenham and knew a lot of men that worked there)

    Ive only just found this looking at Hornby Dublo Videos. I just about fell off my chair laughing. I swear to god the same thing happened to me with a dublo 4mt. And I swear Ive ended up with 6, the first one was missing a few bits and bobs but ran. The next 4 ran perfectly with just a remag and and service. So I wasnt going to scavenge those for parts. 🤷‍♂️ The last one finally didnt work and had a fried armature. So finally provided bits to complete the first one. 🤣🤣 It Must be a thing. How funny.

      It doesn't stop! I bought a tin plate 'Joustra' clockwork railcar, without a key, then I saw a 'Hachette' engine with a key, so I bought it. Trouble is, Hornby/Hachette keys don't fit Joustra stuff. I now have a very old French Hornby engine, a younger British Hornby locomotive, the Hachette one as well as the railcar. Discipline! Mind, it helps when the traders are 'professionals' who are expecting top prices in the middle of the holiday season. In small village brocantes, the sellers are mainly the folk that live in the village who are trying to get rid of stuff, a brocante in a 'tourist destination' attracts more professional traders, who often have established shops and are looking for shop prices and rich holiday makers.
